There are several types of connectors on the market but the most common for security applications is the male BNC connector. Connectors can be attached to the cables by screwing, crimping, or soldering them on. Crimping them on usually provides a better connection. When you purchase BNC connectors, buy only those that are manufactured with a quality plated material, as it provides important protection against rust when used in wet or inclement weather.
