Do not buy a DVR capture card until you read this!
Digital Video Recording (DVR) technology has dramatically changed the world of video security and surveillance. Along with this new technology comes the need to educate ourselves about the products in the marketplace by either thoroughly researching the products you plan to purchase, by reviewing the product information we provide, or contacting us to answer all your questions and make product recommendations prior to your purchase.
Many times we hear from a customer after they have made a purchase and have found that the DVR card or system they purchased is not compatible with the specifications of their PC. Let us put this issue in perspective by looking at a practical example. When purchasing a DVR card that you intend to install into your PC, it is much like buying a part for your car. When you wish to repair or replace a part for your car, you must be certain to identify the correct part for that application. If you own a BMW, you would never purchase a part for a Ford. It is obvious they are not compatible and it will never work. Purchasing a DVR product should be looked at in the exact same way. You must make certain to purchase a DVR product that is compatible with the specifications of your PC. How do you do that? Know your PC! So before you purchase, know the answers to these questions about your PC and make sure the DVR product you are buying is compatible. Then and only then, are you ready to buy.
