Exploring the D's Of Home Security - Part 2 : Developing a Plan
In the previous post made yesterday Exploring the D's Of Home Security - Part 1 : Desire we spoke about the one reason why success — no matter what kind of success it is — can be found just by having the desire to get it. It ought to be intense enough, consistent enough and focused enough for you to take action. Now, that's where we land — taking ACTION.
No matter how badly you wanted a surveillance camera system installed, you will never get anywhere if you don't take action ( cliched? yes. True? Yes. Works? yes). So what must be done?
Develop a Plan, My friend.
Richard Templar writes that " A fool and his money are parted, because the fool doesn't have a plan" — so is the case here. Think of your home and family as money and it will all be parted from you. Developing a plan is the fundamental step towards a successful, pre-emptive burglary subotage. Doing it takes an hour probably but can save you tons of effort, time, money and agony.
Here are the questions you should try to answer when developing that plan :
- What do you need the surveillance system for?
- What exactly, are you looking to achieve?
- Where do you plan to deploy your cameras?
- What is your budget? Will there be any recurring costs?
- And much more….
A sound plan must not be very rigid too since you will need to make changes depending on external circumstances. And a robust, well-designed plan is always a tell-tale sign of success.
